Kathleen Gips’ Village Herb Shop
Breaking News
Kathleen Gips will be retiring in 2014 after twenty years as a retail shop owner of Village Herb shop in Chagrin Falls.
Moving On . . .
Dear Friends and Loyal Customers,
For the past twenty years I have had the great pleasure of my daily work also being my greatest passion. I have had a magical time owning and operating the Village Herb Shop, meeting so many of you, working side by side with so many wonderful and dedicated Herb Shop staff members, mentoring so many young people, growing my knowledge of herbs, and learning to thrive in the retail world. I have loved my shop, my products, my team, my work and my customers.
Now it is time to move on. My future will continue to involve herbs, as I still plan to teach some classes, become more active and volunteer in herb-related organizations, continue my learning, and tend to my own, somewhat neglected, gardens. I will leave behind the physical shop and the retail business, and use those hours for these activities and for travel, family and friends.
I am delighted to announce that the Village Herb Shop will continue to serve our community and our customers under the capable new ownership of local resident Lee Ann Halley. Lee Ann is a long-time Herb Shop customer and supporter who will bring many new ideas and products to the shop while preserving its uniqueness, character, and service.Lee Ann will take charge on February 1st. Be sure to visit the shop and see what she has in store for you.
Our transition will happen at the end of January. Between now and then, we have planned a wonderful Fall and Holiday season at the Shop, followed by some special events in January. We have ordered new products for the Holidays, and will have a full stock of inventory through the end of January. We will decorate the shop as always to share the joy of the Holidays with you. Come in to celebrate a most specialHoliday season with us.
In January, I look forward to showing my appreciation personally. I will present my three most popular programs as a retirement celebration along with desserts and tea. The final program on January 25th will feature Lady Catherine of Lovain, an in-character program of a medieval herb lady. We will serve a medieval tea on that day.
Thank you all for your wonderful support and loyalty to me and to the Herb Shop. It has been my great pleasure to serve you and become friends with so many of you. I hope I have helped bring the pleasure of herbs into your lives.
With pansies and peppermint,
Kathleen
